If you like westerns, this book is for you. Realistic in details, an exciting tale of rage, companionship, betrayal, redemption and revenge. All the components of a cracking good yarn. It keeps you hooked and is easy to read.
Kerry Keeepers keeps you turning the pages in this book that you just can't put down. It's an authentic western for the time period with great dialogue.A story with ups and downs that take you on a journey with the main character as he loses his way and finds himself again, and finds love in the meantime too. Both gritty and uplifting, a read most anyone would thoroughly enjoy!
Mr. Keepers narative writing is comparable to reading the diary of an ancestor's accounting of tumultuous events in his life time. With a few descriptive works he ' set the scene' so well the reader was transported to that place and that time. Thouroughly entertaining! KUDOS! TjWalters
Very well written, and a good story. I enjoyed reading it. And it stayed in the vein of the classic western, including raw language or lack thereof. No cussing straightout, all inferred. Nice. People are so out - of - control with that.
The next best would be the attention to detail of the era, dress and weaponry involved. Not overdone just simply spoken with a somewhat dry wit.
Absolutely loved reading this book. Once I started reading it I had a hard time putting it down as I was excited to find out how it ended. Knew of this script early on in development and patiently waited for the final script. Hoping it comes to screen and watch the characters come to life. Maybe the writer had more up his sleeve?
It's not often that you find a good Western story with characters as complex as those in Deadly Reckoning. It's not just one man's search for redemption, but the reuniting of a family, friends and a town that might want to vote on a new name.
I was trying to envision this as a movie, and I definitely look forward to seeing this play out. The humor was placed throughout the plot and gave some real chuckles.
It would be nice to see a map of the territories mentioned as well as a layout of the town, but that might only be in the printed text and not the e-book which I have.

If you like Westerns, adventures, and motivational stories about someone overcoming personal challenges - then this is definitely the book for you. Kerry Keepers has captured the reality of the old west and given us one of those cannot-put-it-down reads. In it a man’s life is shattered and he plunges into a deep, dark world. He no longer carries a badge but is now hunted by those who do. You witness his fall into darkness and you journey with him on his climb back into the light. It is definitely one of those books you will talk about and recommend to your friends. Jerry Foust.
