A must read!Great book, reading this book I became part of it, for those who own not only dogs but any pets, Ms. Crompton takes you on a journey of the dogs she and her family have enjoyed each as unique individuals sharing love, environment, ups and downs. Honestly written and easily read , this book will make you laugh at times and give you the feeling that you have personally met these dogs.
As a child and teen during my growing years I had many pets, but although I loved them with all my heart, I now realize looking back that they should have received the necessary attention that the dogs in this book did. This book should be read by everyone pet owner or not, before you think about welcoming a pet into your life think, do you have all it takes to provide your pet with not only love, but the necessary care it may and will require, Peg and Henry did.; Thanks Peg for helping make a decision, this book has enlightened me.

This book was a delight to read and made me cry in spots. The author paints an accurate picture of what it is like to be a dog owner. Her love for her pets and the personalities of her different dogs shines through making the story interesting and enjoyable. If you're thinking of getting a dog, you must read this book! And if you've already shared your life with several dogs as I have, you will relate to the charming tales told here.
Great read for anyone who has ever owned, loved, or is thinking about getting a dog. The author gives a frank and descriptive narrative detailing both the loving rewards and the earthy foibles of dog ownership. However, this is not a "dog ownership 101" textbook - as it is far too much of a fun experience as you quickly turn the pages to learn more about Peg's own interaction with her pets. Would make a great gift for that family member or friend of yours who loves their dog too!
